We’ve been busy recruiting at Stuart Hall and Co lately, and now we’re recruiting again! That’s one of the nicest things about having a strong team of accountants with a great reputation: watching it grow.

We’re always on the lookout for good people to work with. And it’s not just for young people on their first step into working life … more mature, qualified accountants benefit from joining our growing family, too.

In fact, we’re looking to recruit our next experienced accountant to join the team right now based at our office in Bishop Auckland.

Could it be you?

You would need to have at least one year’s experience in working in an accountancy practice as a qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, ATT or qualified by experience) and be able to:

  • Manage a portfolio of clients
  • Help with the team’s implementation of updates on accounting standards
  • Prepare statutory accounts for sole traders, limited companies and partnerships
  • Prepare and submit Individual Tax Returns, Company Tax Returns and VAT Returns
  • Manage accounts on a monthly or quarterly basis for our key clients on-site
  • Liaise with HMRC for any Income Tax/Corporation Tax/VAT/PAYE and NI enquiries and investigations
  • Provide clear Tax Advice to our clients as and when they need it

All that is well and good. That’s the information we put out there on recruitment sites, but our clients agree, Stuart Hall and Co is an accountancy firm with a difference.

As we say, “We do more than add up the numbers.” Although brilliant customer service is our absolute priority, how we deliver it comes down to having a happy team. If we’re happy, our clients are, too.

Feeling great about where we work is crucial for the smooth running of Stuart Hall and Co and the quality of care our clients feel they receive from us. They mention it often in their feedback – how at ease they felt working with us, how pleased they are with our speed and attention to detail.

Stuart Hall and Co is truly a happy place to work, and so we’re looking for the right ‘fit’.
If you like one-to-one chats with clients, consider yourself to be a ‘people person’ and thrive in a strong team environment, then contact us about the role.
We look after our family as well as we do our clients.
Everybody who works here is listened to, helped on the next career step, invested in as individuals with unique interests and life paths.
For example, Charlotte Spowart and Kate Hewitson both started with Stuart Hall and Co on an apprenticeship scheme and have now completed their AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians)
qualifications. Huge congratulations to them!

Charlotte and Kate

Several of our experienced accountancy team started with us in the same way.
They’re now specialising in various accountancy fields, giving Stuart Hall and Co a leading edge in offering expert accountancy service and advice.

David Sawyer – affectionately known as ‘Luke’ – is forging ahead with his studies ahead of his ACCA exams (Chartered Association of Certified Accountants) exams,
and David Heslington – just as affectionately known as ‘Harry’ – is busy specialising in Tax, working towards his ATT exams (Association of Taxation Technicians).

If you’re looking to take the next step confidently in your accountancy career, then get in touch with us – we’re looking forward to meeting you!

Who wouldn’t want to join this happy lot?
